VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Summertime and VBS go together naturally like peanut butter and jelly, Batman and Robin, and salt and pepper. Summertime may allow us a break from school but not a break from learning about God. Summertime gives us the opportunity to gather again in God’s name, in God’s House, to hear anew God’s love for us. There is just something special about summer and Vacation Bible School, not only for children, but for adults as well.
Following is a list of classes being offered June 24-27:
Our young school-aged children will again be participating in Lutheroad here at Holy Trinity.
The Destination Unknown class for the youth will be lead by Pastor Fischer.
The Adult class will be held in the Pairs n’ Spares Room.

2019 LCY Convention

2019 LCY Convention
May 17-19 at Newberry College http://scsynod.us/lcyconvention

What is LCY Convention?

At our annual LCY Convention, we meet Jesus together and celebrate the ministry we share! We will join in large and small groups to learn, grow, play, and build community together, and conduct the business of our synod’s youth organization, SCLCY. Each youth can choose to participate in either the LIVING FAITH (standard programming), WORSHIP, or DRAMA track. We will amend our constitution, elect a new president, and each Conference will vote on their youth representative for our synod’s Youth Ministry Cabinet.
LCY Convention is a perfect opportunity for youth and adults to meet new people from around South Carolina, and see what it means that we’re Church together in the South Carolina Synod and in the ELCA!

Featuring ELCA Youth Gathering speaker Joe Davis!
Joe Davis is a nationally touring writer, speaker, and performer based in Minneapolis, MN. He is the frontman of emerging soul, funk, and spoken word ensemble, The Poetic Diaspora, and the co-founder and Artistic Director of H-Cubed: Harrison, Healing, and Harmony, a monthly event series centered on healing through the arts. As a student and educator, he has served as teaching artist at dozens of high schools and universities and most recently as the Artist-in-Residence at Luther Seminary, receiving a masters in Theology of the Arts.

Lutheran Services Carolinas Capitol Campaign update

Thank You!
Lutheran Services Carolinas Capitol Campaign Benefiting LSC Child and Family Services in South Carolina Dear fellow members of Holy Trinity, Anderson,
As you know, the capitol campaign for LSC child and family services has been ongoing since March, and will continue for three years.
I want to sincerely thank all of you that have contributed toward this worthy cause! If you have not yet done so, and would like to be a part of this noble effort, please remember that the campaign continues for three years. Further contributions can be made locally to Holy Trinity (please write “Lutheran Services Carolinas”, or, simply,” LSC” on the memo line of your check), or to LSC directly, using the Statement of Intent form, which was included in the March issue of The Messenger. If you need a copy of the form, or the address, please call the church office. Be sure to add the name “Holy Trinity, Anderson” on the Congregation line of the form.
All of us know how important it is to help serve our neighbor in need, and to follow, as First John, Chapter 3 says, “the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.”
Yours in Christ,
Bob Straup, Congregational Campaign Leader
