Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper Final update

We thank our Lutheran Men in Mission for all their hard work for the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper.
They fed 98 people for their 2nd Shrove Tuesday event in Fellowship Hall.
The total brought in was $784.00 and will be dispersed by the Lutheran Men In Mission for a project yet to be determined.

Spring Playground cleanup

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED
In March our Playground will get more mulch. For those of you on this committee, and anyone
else, if available, we will need help spreading it out. This will be done on a Saturday yet to be
determined due to weather conditions. Notices will be given when we get closer to early March,
Thank you in advance.

Playground Chairperson

I am interested in being more involved in the ministry of the congregation. What is the process?

Helpful Hint of the Month
I am interested in being more involved in the ministry of the congregation.
What is the process?
This is the perfect time. Each October members of the congregation have the
opportunity to fill out a Time and Talent Survey, indicating what they would like
to do in the upcoming year. Would you like to serve as an assistant minister or
lay reader? Are you interested in serving on the Altar Guild (preparing Holy
Communion, washing altar linens, distributing the altar flowers to the home
bound, polishing the altar brassware and candles, cleaning up after Holy
Communion)? Next year we are doing something new as we look for adults who
will be helping as acolytes, and occasional crucifers, torch bearers and bible
bearers. After the Time and Talent surveys are returned, Nancy Korn creates a
worship spread sheet from all the information for the following year and this is
shared with the various committee chairs.
We could really use a few more teams to serve as offering tabulators. Would you
like to provide altar flowers in Memory Of or In Honor Of someone? This is the
time to do this. Our secretary, Pat, creates these two schedules.
Would you like to serve on a committee or team? Choices include: Worship and Music, Learning, Witness, Service, Health Ministry, Mutual Ministry, Personnel, Property, Support, Fellowship/Recreation, Future Ministry, Youth, Mission Endowment, Audit, Columbarium, Playground, Visitation, and Safety. For more information about each group, see the church By-Laws or contact Pastor Fischer for how often these committees meet and what they do.
Please know that if you volunteer you will be called upon to serve. Come serve the Lord and His people through these opportunities! Training will be provided for each ministry.

Medical Equipment Available

Medical Equipment Available!
We have been blessed with many donations. If you or someone you know is in need of a walker, shower chair or bedside commode, we have plenty and would love to share. Please see Amy Goodson or Sue Rasche.

New needlepoint project approved by Council

Calling all stitchers! Our next needlepoint project has been approved by the Council. we It will be a wonderful banner which will be stitched to replicate our beautiful stained glass windows with a Luther Rose in the center. When completed, it will hang on the back wall of the sanctuary over the door. Once again it is being designed by Linda Mote who has designed all of our other projects except for the Chrismons.  It will be worked in 9 sections. We have a very generous donor who  is funding the entire project as a memorial but we will need stitchers! Please watch in the coming weeks for meeting announcements. As we will need to gather for distribution of the kits and instructions when they are ready.

 Thanks, Amy G

Revamping of the Visitation Committee

Revamping of Committee
We are in the process of starting back up the Visitation Committee. We are looking for a handful of folks who have a calling to visit our homebound members and occasionally to visit those in the hospital. Meetings would be minimum. The emphasis of this committee will be to work hand-in-hand with Pastor Fischer in these areas of ministry. If you are interested, simply contact the pastor via email, cell phone, or in person.
