03/10/24 Weekly Congregational Updates

Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,

Here are this week’s updates:

  • Matt Roehrs is doing well after his surgery to repair a torn bicep last Friday.

  • We celebrate with Marijane Coggins who finished her radiation treatments on Monday of this week!

  • Don’t forget that the Bread-Making Workshop will take place this coming Saturday, March 9, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.  Our distinguished bread baker, Amy Goodson, will be leading this event.  We have 18 signed up.

  • Also, don’t forget to set your clocks back Saturday night before you go to bed (so you will lose an hour of sleep).  Spring forward, fall back. We don’t want you to be late for worship.

  • Sunday, I will be preaching on our gospel reading, John 3:14-21, as we take another look at God’s love for us in Jesus Christ.

  • On Wednesday evening of next week, the Lutheran Men in Mission’s group will be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs and providing all the fixings, as part of the Lenten meal at 6:00 p.m.  Then at 7:00 p.m. we will be gathering for our next midweek Lenten worship service as we explore “More Than Bread.”

  • Down the road, on Tuesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. our sanctuary will be used by Church of the Ascension, Anglican and the Anderson University Music Students for an Evensong worship.  This is a church service traditionally held near sunset, focusing on the singing of the psalms and other biblical canticles.  We may have up to 40 music students filling our sanctuary!  Several of you have asked me if our congregation is invited to attend.  The short answer is:  YES!

In Christ,

Pastor Fischer
