09/20/26 Weekly Congregational Update
Dear Members and Friends of the Congregation,
As you know, I usually send out this email on Thursday afternoon but my computer was not getting along with me yesterday. A big Thank You goes out to Paul Wagner for coming to my rescue (as he always does for me and Pat for our office computer issues). Here are this week’s updates:
- Thank you for your recent generosity. Last Sunday, we had Percy Dingle with us on behalf of the Gideons organization. Together we gave $710.00 at the Early Service and $623.00 at the Late Service for a total of $1,333.00!
- This Sunday’s scripture readings are about grace. The Old Testament reading is from Jonah 3:10-4:11 and the gospel text is from Matthew 20:1-16, the workers in the vineyard.
- There are two Sundays remaining to buy your Deutsches Fest tickets, this coming Sunday and September 27. You will need to see a church council member (whose names are listed in the bulletin) or stop by the office to see Pat.
- One other deadline approaching fast concerns the Advisory Ballot. If you have a few folks in mind who you believe would be good candidates to serve on the church council, please fill out the form in the bulletin (or September newsletter) and either drop them into the offering plate on Sunday or mail it back to the church office.
- Please mark your calendars for our Annual Blessing of the Animals service on Sunday, October 4 at 5:00 p.m. in the back parking lot of Fellowship Hall.
- We continue to keep in our prayers:
- Chris Dafoe – at AnMed Rehabilitation Hospital.
- Ellen Walters – at AnMed Rehabilitation Hospital.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
