07/26/2026 Weekly Congregational Update

Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,

Here are this week’s updates to pass along to you:

• The Personnel Committee has begun the interviewing process to find another sexton and groundskeeper.  In the meantime, we are very grateful for the three families who have agreed to clean the sanctuary and restrooms each week until a replacement has been found. We are also thankful for Claude Calloway keeping the church lawn cut during this time.

• Sunday, I will be preaching on the gospel reading, Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52 as we explore the parables of Jesus referring to the Kingdom of God as “treasure.”
  • When in your life did you find a good deal in something?
  • Have you ever participated in a Black Friday event?
  • Do you still have any of those purchases today?
  • Have you ever discovered a “treasure” at a garage sale or flea market?
  • Why does Jesus refer to the Kingdom of God as a “treasure”?

• You are asked to keep the following in your prayers:
  • Paul Rummage, on the death of his older brother, Bill, this past Thursday.
  • Jill Helgeson, on the death of her oldest sister, Ann Blair, this past Sunday.
  • Sid Stokes, on his heart oblation procedure, yesterday.

• Don’t forget, our final Saturday Servants event will be this coming Saturday at 9:45 a.m. when we make bagged lunches to feed those in the Anderson area.
