10/09/22 Weekly Congregational Updates
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,
Some things to pass along to you this week:
- This past Sunday afternoon we had quite the assortment of participants for our Blessing of the Animals. The animals outnumbered the people. We had 24 animals (14 dogs, 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 4 sugar gliders and 1 macaw) and 22 human beings. A good time was had by all. We will soon have photos on our church website.
- Don’t forget. Sunday is the last day to purchase your Deutches Fest tickets! All money raised will be given to Good Neighbor Cupboard.
- Giving Thanks will be our theme for this Sunday as we take a look at the Gospel reading, Luke 17:11-19 and the story of the 10 lepers cured but only one returns thanks to the Lord.
- To date, no one replied to my email week, looking for a volunteer. Here is the article again: We are looking for one more volunteer to assist Dave Korn and me in a monthly rotation of replacing the sanctuary candle and inspecting the fire extinguishers on the church property. What is involved? For your assigned month (which would be once every 3 months) you would be responsible for changing the sanctuary candle (the one hanging down near the altar) each week, using a 3-foot step ladder, and once a month you would need to inspect all 13 fire extinguishers in the buildings. The candle replacing takes about 5 minutes each week and the inspections of the fire extinguishers will take about 20 minutes each month. If you are interested in serving the Lord in this way, please speak with me or reply to this email. If you need more information, let me know.
- Also, we are looking for someone to volunteer to help in our church library, restocking the returned books. This will take about 20-30 minutes, once each month. If books are your thing and you are limited in physical activity, and you are interested in serving the Lord in this capacity, please see me.
- Wednesday of next week is our Family Fun Night from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Come out and join us in Fellowship Hall as supper will be provided, we will do a couple of songs, hear the Bible story of the Good Samaritan (and God’s grace), and create a craft.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
