6/14/26 Weekly Congregational Update
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,
Here are this week’s updates to pass along to you:
- The new Christ In Our Home daily devotionals have been placed in the narthex, for the months of July, August, and September.
- If you would like to send a card/letter to Ben, his address is: Ben Fortner, 3683 S. Industrial Dr., Simpsonville, SC 29681. Please remember to use print and not cursive writing.
- Today, Joshua and Christina and I will travel to Columbia to serve as your congregational delegates for the SC Synod Assembly. We will be electing a new bishop and ask for your prayers upon the whole assembly during this process. We will be returning home Saturday afternoon.
- Sunday, we will be dedicating the Fellowship Hall Mechanical Room in memory of Ernie Thoms. This will take place between the two worship services at 10:00 a.m. (There will be no Sunday School classes that day.) Refreshments will be provided. Jeanette and other family members will be in attendance. You are invited to bring a card stating your favorite memory of Ernie. All cards will be given to the family to take home with them.
- With Father’s Day on June 21, you have the opportunity to make a donation to the Lutheran Men in Mission in honor of or in memory of your father. All names will be listed in the bulletin on Father’s Day. All money received will be given to the South Carolina Lutheran Men in Mission. Sunday is the last day to do this.
- Sunday, I will be preaching on the gospel reading, Matthew 9:35-10:23, as we look at the qualifications to be a disciple of Jesus.
- We will be receiving four new members into the church family during our worship services Sunday – Randy & Dale Rish, and Emery & Janet Sanstrum.
- Our next Family Fun Night will be on Wednesday evening as we explore Matthew.
- It is that time of the year when we gather food items to prepare sandwiches as part of our Saturday Servants project to feed those hungry in the Anderson area. In your bulletin and newsletter is a complete list of everything we need. Right now we still need:
- 850 individual snack size bags of snacks (chips, pretzels, goldfish, etc.)
- 120 boxes of individually wrapped Little Debbie Cakes (any type).
- 18 jars of smooth peanut butter (40 oz. size)
- 22 jars of grape jelly (16 oz. size)
- 8 jars of mayonnaise (32 oz. size)
- Just let yourself in and place all donated items in the container provided in the room off of the narthex.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
