5/31/26 Weekly Congregational Update
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,
Here are this week’s updates to pass along to you:
- This coming Sunday is Holy Trinity Sunday, the one time of the year we use the Athanasian Creed. You will quickly realize how redundant this creed is, and its connection to the theme of the Trinity – one God, equal in three persons.
- What would a Holy Trinity Sunday be like without singing “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty” and using our congregational commissioned hymn “Be Present Holy Trinity”?
- This Sunday, being a 5th Sunday, we will have ONE COMBINED WORSHIP SERVICE at 10:00 a.m. In order to help us get to know each other, we will again have a Potluck Meal in Fellowship Hall afterward the service. Please bring a dish to share. The meat will be provided by the congregation. When you arrive for worship, food can be dropped off in Fellowship Hall, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The kind folks of the Fellowship Committee will be glad to heat up items, but please be mindful that we do not have the facilities to cook food dishes.
- I will be preaching on the Second Reading, from 2 Corinthians 13:11-13, as we explore Paul’s comment to greet each other with a holy kiss. How many other biblical references about kissing can you name?
- After the meal, we are offering an Abuse Prevention Training Workshop in Fellowship Hall. We do ask that all those in the congregation who work with our children and youth attend this event. Please reach out to Kate Roehrs if you have any questions about this.
- Dining Divas will gather a week from today at McGee’s Irish Pub at 6:00 p.m. You need to RSVP Beth Cribbe if you are planning to eat with the group.
- The Messenger was mailed out on Tuesday. Some of you have already received the newsletter; others of us continue to wait. You will notice that the June list of birthdays and wedding anniversaries was left out of this edition inadvertently. We will include these lists in Sunday’s bulletin on June 7.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
