11/16/95 Weekly Congregational Update

Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,

Here are this week’s updates to pass along to you:

  • The Advent devotionals, A Grand Miracle, by C.S. Lewis, are now ready to be picked up in the narthex.  Please limit yourselves to one per household.

  • This past Sunday at our Congregational Meeting, we elected to a 3-year term on the Church Council:  Mary Ann Hobbs, Christina Fischer, Kevin Lockhart, and Matt Roehrs. We also approved the proposed spending plan for ministry in 2026.

  • Saturday, the Property Committee is sponsoring a Congregational Workday to clean out some of the storage areas on the church property.  If you are interested in helping out, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall at 9:00 a.m. this Saturday and divide into work teams.

  • Then on Sunday, I will be preaching on the gospel reading, Luke 21:5-19, as we explore what it means when our Lord tells his followers that not a hair of their head will perish.

  • The Luther’s Ladies Circle will gather to meet, a week from today, Thursday, for their monthly supper meeting, in Fellowship Hall.
  • We keep in our thoughts and prayers Jeanette Thoms who took a fall earlier this week and is at the AnMed Hospital.

  • This time of the year, I want to call your attention to a few opportunities to serve the Lord in 2026.

              It is still not too late to turn in your Time and Talent sheets.  Just fill them out and place them in the offering plate one Sunday or give them to Pat or Pastor or mail them to the church office.  We are especially looking for a few more volunteers in the following areas:

  • Acolytes (children, youth, adults)
  • Worship Assistants
  • Altar Guild
    • Preparing for Communion before worship
    • Cleaning up Communion after worship
    • Washing Communion linens
    • Distributing altar flowers to the shut-ins
    • Polishing altar brass and refilling candles
    • Replacing the Sanctuary candle

Please note:

  • Training will be provided for each position.
  • If you have any questions about any of these, please contact Nancy Korn or me.
  • Even if you have already turned in a Time and Talent form, you can still volunteer for these areas.
  • Extra Time and Talent sheets are in the narthex.  
  • Please prayerfully consider serving the Lord at Holy Trinity next year.
