10/6/24 Weekly Congregational Update
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,
As many of us have had our power restored by now, there are quite a few in the congregation who are still patiently waiting for this to happen. Please reach out to those in need and let us all keep in our prayers the recovery process which will take years for some communities.
Here are some things happening this week and next week in our congregation:
- Yes, the Deutsches Fest is still taking place this Saturday, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall and the back parking lot! If your plans have changed that now allow you to attend this year’s event, and you do not have tickets, please come anyway. Just reach out to me or Virgil ahead of time to let us know for planning purposes. You can pay for your tickets at the beer tent.
- Sunday, I will be preaching on marriage and divorce based on the Gospel text, Mark 10:2-16.
- Sunday afternoon, our annual Blessing of the Animals service will take place in the back parking lot at 5:00 p.m. What I like to tell folks is, “No matter your pets, as long as they don’t bite me, I will attempt to bless it.”
- Next Wednesday evening, our next Family Fun Night will take place as we look at the theme of the Reformation.
- The WELCA Fall Conference that was scheduled for October 12, has been cancelled.
- We keep in our prayers the following:
- Jean Vinson who, after a fall, was admitted to AnMed on Wednesday.
- John Sticker, who is doing better and is expected to return home on Friday.
- Warren and Bonnie Lutz, as he nears death under the care of Hospice at Dominion.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
