10/4/26 Weekly Congregational Update
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church,
Here are this week’s updates to pass along to you:
- We have run into a glitch in getting the October newsletter to you. Pat and I have completed printing it, volunteers have come into the office and have put mailing labels on them, but we have run into an problem with the US Postal system. They have unexpectedly changed the paperwork over the internet and Pat has been unsuccessful in getting an answer as to a solution to mailing them out. So . . . I have decided to send it to you electronically in the meantime, until we have this issue resolved.
- If you were not able to attend the Memorial Service for Jan House, there are still some bulletins from that service in the narthex.
- I will be preaching on the gospel lesson Sunday, Matthew 21:33-46 as we take a look at what it means to be faithful in the vineyard, even when we do not own it.
- The annual Blessing of the Animals will take place Sunday afternoon, at 5:00 p.m. in the back parking lot. This is an informal service that lasts about 20 minutes. Bring whatever you consider to be your family pet(s). I am watching the weather. Rain is expected over the weekend but should be clearing by Sunday afternoon.
- Our 13th annual Deutches Fest will take place Saturday, October 10th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday will be the last day to purchase tickets! At last year’s event, many of our cooks did not have any food remaining, by the time they sat down to eat. Because of this, we have made a few changes as to how our Deutches Fest will go this year. They are:
- We will gather at 4:00 p.m. to begin our celebration time together but please be mindful that food will not be served until 5:00 p.m.
- There will be a serving line this year.
- You will have a choice of Eating In or Taking Out, but not both.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
