9/21/25 Weekly Congregational Updates
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,
Here are this week’s updates:
- Thank you so much for your generosity! Last week, we as a congregation, gave the Gideons $1,236.00, which will buy many Bibles for them to distribute.
- The new October-November-December issue of the Christ in Our Home devotionals are now ready to be picked up from the narthex.
- Like many of you have done, earlier this week, I underwent skin cancer surgery. I tell you this so that you are not too surprised to see a large bandage on my face Sunday.
- Sunday, I will be preaching on the Gospel text, Luke 16:1-13. This reading has been labeled as one of the most difficult of all the parables to understand. Please read over this several times and think about the following questions:
- Why would Jesus tell this story?
- Why did Jesus make a hero of this crook?
- What is the point of this parable?
- How do we apply this parable to what we do today?
- On Sunday evening, Jane Cahaly will be leading a 6-week program, “How To Give Your Faith Away.” Classes will run in the Pairs and Spares Room from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for 6 consecutive weeks. If you cannot attend them all, just come to the classes you can.
- After a summer break, the Lutheran Men in Mission will gather for their monthly supper meeting on Monday evening, at 6:00 p.m.
- “Maddi – the Musical Revue” is quickly approaching. This 1-hour production will take place in our Fellowship Hall on Friday, next week at 7:00 p.m., and then again one last time on Saturday afternoon, next week at 2:00 p.m. A free-will offering will be received.
- The last day to purchase tickets for this year’s Deutsches Fest is Sunday, September 28. They are now available from a church council member after worship or the church office, Monday thru Thursday.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
