10/18/26 Weekly Congregational Update
Dear Members and Friends of the Congregation,
Here are this week’s updates to pass along to you:
- Thank you for your support of our Deutsches Fest celebration! Despite the rain, we had a great time with great food and great company. Together, through ticket sales and donations, we were able to raise $2270.00 for Meals on Wheels of Anderson.
- I remind you of the Memorial Service for Don Simon tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Afterwards, you are invited to a reception in Fellowship Hall.
- On Saturday of this week, the Crafty Ladies will gather in Fellowship Hall, beginning at 9:00 a.m. for their last event of the year.
- Sunday, you are invited to wear something pink in honor of all survivors and in memory of loved ones who have been victims of breast cancer as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Sunday.
- What do you think about paying taxes? Sunday, I will be preaching on the gospel lesson, Matthew 22:15-22. My sermon title may catch your curiosity.
- You should have either picked up your stewardship packet this past Sunday, or had it mailed to you earlier this week. Please take a few moments to prayerfully consider how you will support the ministry we do together in this congregation. As part of the offering Sunday (and on October 25), you will have the opportunity to return your Time/Talents/Treasure sheets for a special blessing.
- Sunday, we will be passing out to the congregation the Trick-Or-Treat-So-Others-May-Eat food drive bags. You will take them home to fill and return on Sunday, October 25. Also, after the Late Service, we are looking for a few more volunteers to help as we go out into the neighborhoods to distribute bags. Lunch will be provided for the volunteers in Fellowship Hall. Please contact Amy Goodson if you are willing to help or if you have any questions.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
