09/28/25 Weekly Congregational Update
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,
Here are a few things happening at the church this week and next week:
- A big “Thank You” goes out to all who helped pack SnackPack bags this morning. We had 16 participate, as together we put together two pallets of boxes. If you are interested in helping out in the future, contact Mike Cox.
- The musical production of Maddi is almost here! You are invited to attend one of two performances that will take place in our Fellowship Hall – Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Several of you have asked for a few more details so here they are:
- What is this show about? This show is the story of an older lady who becomes ridiculously obsessed with a much younger man, and how they resolve this situation without upsetting their friends and keep her family from having her committed. The music is fun, funny and sweet and sad.
- What is the length of the production? About an hour.
- Is there anybody in it we know? Yes, several of our own members. It was written by Kati Smith (and her sister, Trish Taub, did the music), Pamela Michalski will be at the piano, while other members, Virgil Hobbs, Beth Cribbe and Leslie Cox are in the cast.
- Is there a cost? No. A free will offering will be received and the money gathered will be given to local theaters in Anderson.
- Do I need tickets? No. Just come out and enjoy.
- Can you give me a glimpse of how the Fellowship Hall is arranged? Please see the photo above – all that is needed now, is you!
- This Sunday is WELCA Sunday when the women of our congregation will be leading the worship service. Deacon Dallas Shealy, Executive Director of the SC Lutheran Retreats Centers, will be our guest preacher (I will still be in attendance though.)
- A couple of deadlines are coming up on Sunday:
- Sunday is the FINAL DAY to purchase tickets for this year’s Deutsches Fest. The event will take place next Saturday, October 4, but we need a headcount to help us with the food preparation. Just see a council member for tickets after the service.
- Sunday is the FINAL DAY to submit the names of those you feel would make a good candidate for our Church Council. Just fill out the form in the bulletin and drop off in the box in the narthex or sacristy.
- Workshop #2 of “How To Give Your Faith Away” will take place Sunday evening in the Pairs and Spares Room from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Jane Cahaly is our facilitator.
- A week from today, Thursday, October 2, the Dining Divas group will gather at Carson’s Steak House. You will need to RSVP with Beth Cribbe.
- To all the animal lovers out there, on Sunday, October 5, our Blessing of the Animals Service will take place in the back parking lot at 5:00 p.m.
- We keep in our prayers:
- Susan Straup as she recovers from surgery this past Tuesday.
- Stephen Roehrs and family, upon the recent death of his brother, Dr. Timothy Roehrs.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
