05/29/22 Weekly Congregational Updates

Dear Members and Friends of H.T.,

Greetings on this Memorial Day weekend.  We pray for all those who will be traveling this holiday weekend.  Here are some updates to pass along to you:

  1. “How many attended the LMM cookout on Monday?” you ask.  We had a total of 55, with 21 of them being our guests (spouses).  A great time was had by all!

  2. The June Messenger was mailed out yesterday, Thursday.

  3. Don’t forget that this Sunday, with it being a 5th Sunday, we will have One Combined Worship Service @ 10:00 a.m.  This will be an opportunity to get to know others in the congregation, who may attend “the other service on Sunday morning.”

  4. A Pot Luck meal will follow so please bring a dish or two to share as we will gather in Fellowship Hall after worship.  Speaking of the food, you may drop off your dishes in the Fellowship Hall kitchen before worship and those working in the kitchen will warm up items, as needed.

  5. On Sunday I will again be preaching from our First Reading, the book of Acts  [16:16-34].  This is a very unusual story involving a slave girl  who has the ability to foretell the future.  Paul and Silas free her from the spirt that possesses her and end up in prison. The question we will grabble with, is this, “What do we do when things don’t go as planned?”

If you are in town this weekend, we would love to have you in worship and then eat together.

In the name of the risen Christ,

Pastor Fischer
