05/04/25 Weekly Congregational Update
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,
Here are this week’s updates to pass along to you:
- Please be aware that we are currently having problems with the phones in the church office. If you need to contact Pat or me, please call us on our cell phones until this situation is fixed.
- The May edition of The Messenger was mailed out to you on Tuesday of this week. Hopefully, your copy of the newsletter will arrive soon.
- Sunday, I will be preaching on the gospel, John 21:1-19, as we look at this second story of the resurrection of our Lord. Questions to ponder:
- Why do the disciples return to fishing, so soon after the resurrection of Jesus?
- What is the significance of the number of fish caught – 153?
- Why would Jesus ask Peter if he loved him, three times?
- We will be recognizing all of our Senior Citizens this Sunday during the announcements at both worship services.
- Mother’s Day is quickly approaching. A special offering is being sponsored by WELCA and the money received will be given to a female student at Lenoir-Rhyne Seminary and other WELCA projects. If you would like to make a donation In Memory Of or In Honor Of your mother (or other special women in your life), please fill out the form in the bulletin/newsletter. No specific amount is required. The names will be printed in the bulletin on Mother’s Day, May 11. This coming Sunday, May 4 is the deadline to do this.
In Christ,
Pastor Fischer
