Youth Gathering Update
The National Youth Gathering will be held in Houston Texas June 27-July 1st, 2018. This year, we will have 10 youth and 3 adults attending — one of our largest groups ever! The Gathering is held every 3 years and offers opportunities for the youth to serve, learn, worship and fellowship with some 30,000 other Lutheran youth from across the US. All who attend have been impacted by the experience. As you know, the youth have been working to raise the funds needed to attend this event. Money is needed for registration, travel and lodging. The youth are very appreciative of the love and support the members of this congregation have given as they have been very generous thus far. To date, we have raised enough to cover our airfare and our initial down payment for registration. At this point, we still owe the following: Remaining Registration – $830 and Hotel rooms- $4500 for a total of $5330 or $410 each. All participants are responsible for paying for their own meals. We still have a few opportunities for the congregation to help in our efforts to raise these needed funds. They are the Lenten meal on March 7th and the 5th Sunday meal on April 29th. Of course, any other donations will be gratefully accepted. Many thanks from all of the participants: Wyatt and Bowen Strang, Felder and Davis Fogle, Bree and Chase Plesko, Katie Fischer, Kathleen Dial, Krista Spoores, Max Roehrs, Pastor and Beth Fischer, and Amy Goodson.
THANK YOU FROM THE YOUTH GROUP
On Reformation Sunday, by providing a fifth Sunday meal, our Youth raised a total of $867.00 to help with the cost of The Youth Gathering next year. Our thanks to all of the parents, grandparents and friends and especially our church family for your generous donations! Amy Goodson.
